CS0058 Littleton Panell Wessex Water

From Wessex Water:

Essential sewerage lining in Littleton Panell

Wessex Water is carrying out repairs on faults within the sewer network in Littleton Panell,  which need to be relined as part of our ongoing pollution prevention programme.

Relining and sealing sewers in this way helps protect the environment, preventing foul water escaping and groundwater entering sewers, which can lead to flooding or storm overflows automatically discharging into rivers or the sea if the system becomes overwhelmed.

This work will take place for two weeks from Monday 4 August to Friday 15 August 2025:

An investment of more than £450,000, this work will be carried out using ‘no-dig’ techniques, which are quicker and less intrusive than replacing the pipe in a conventional manner. There is further information in the enclosed leaflet.

The majority of it will take place in private land with no impact on traffic.

We will be accessing a manhole on Russel Mill Lane for short 15-minute periods between Monday 4 and Friday 8 August. Our onsite team will contact affected houses on the relevant day to give them a chance to move vehicles for these short periods should they require.

Access for residents and local businesses will be maintained outside of the contractors’ working hours (typically 8am to 6pm, although this may extend to later if required).

Access for emergency vehicles will be maintained at all times and our on-site team will work with customers with regard to any specific access requirements.

There may be some noise disruption while this work, some of which may last into the evening, is carried out but every effort will be made to keep this to a minimum.

Water and sewerage services can be used as normal unless we advise otherwise.

We will shortly be writing to local customers to advise them about this work and I attach a copy of that letter for your information.
